Pat’s Story

I’m retired, so I can’t write big checks every year for organizations like A New Leaf. But I do have a lot of time, and a lot of skills that I know could be helpful! So I give my time, every week, to help people in need served by A New Leaf.

My wife is an RN and I’m a stay-at-home dad for now, so I wanted to spend the time I do have getting ready for my career. Once my girls are in school, I want to start pursuing my dream career in social work again. By volunteering, I can flex my hours to work around being a dad, while still getting amazing experience.

I grew up in Mesa, I went to school here, I go to church here, and I raised my children here – I feel a commitment to the community, that I want to improve it as much as I can. A New Leaf has given me the platform to do exactly that, and with so many people.
