Bashas’ Family of Stores Partners with A New Leaf

The month of May will be full of giving thanks to Bashas’ Family of Stores! Beginning May 1, Bashas’ and A New Leaf will partner to launch A New Leaf for A New Start, an in-store donation campaign designed to provide shelter and support for victims of domestic violence and homelessness.

The campaign will be held at Bashas’ and Food City locations in Central and Northern Arizona – a total of 81 stores – offering shoppers a $1 or $5 leaf to hang in-store, with all proceeds benefiting A New Leaf’s homeless and domestic violence shelters and programs. Shoppers will also be able to round up their purchase to the nearest dollar to benefit A New Leaf’s programs.

A New Leaf offers shelter and support to individuals in Arizona, including Faith House Women’s Crisis Shelter, the East Valley Men’s Center, Autumn House Domestic Violence Shelter, La Mesita Family Homeless Shelter, and a variety of services from job assistance to counseling to a crisis hotline for domestic violence victims. There are over 36,000 homeless people in the Grand Canyon State — one in every 184 Arizonans, and stable housing is the most urgent need for victims of violence and homelessness. The donations received at Bashas’ and Food City registers will directly impact those suffering in a monumental way.

With the help of fundraisers like A New Leaf for A New Start, A New Leaf was able to serve more than 32,000 individuals across 30+ program locations in 2018.

A New Leaf is grateful to the support of its media partners that are sponsoring this year’s campaign, including 99.9 KEZ, Arizona Foothills Magazine, and KTAR News Radio.

Bashas’ Family of Stores is a family owned and operated grocery chain started in 1932 by brothers Ike and Eddie Basha, Sr. Arizona’s hometown grocer has a vested interest in the neighborhoods it serves with stores in 15 counties across the state. A New Leaf is proud to partner with this iconic company.
