VITA Program Seeks Volunteers

(Glendale, AZ) – A New Leaf’s community Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program in the West Valley is currently seeking volunteers to assist qualified taxpayers prepare and file their tax returns.

Hard working families and individual taxpayers sometimes face obstacles in understanding their finances and filing their taxes, and the VITA program connects them to a tax credit that can transform their lives and save hundreds of dollars in paid preparer fees.

VITA volunteers do meaningful work in the fight against poverty. Available volunteer roles include Tax Preparer, Site Screener, Interpreter, Site Greeter, Tax Return Closer and other roles. A New Leaf operates the VITA program for the West Valley in partnership with Valley of the Sun United Way.

Volunteers receive free training and support and can learn new skills while helping the community. Both online and on-site training courses are available. Individuals can find a list of 12 locations in the West Valley that will be providing the service at www.turnanewleaf.org and can register as a volunteer immediately.
