The Weatherization Program
Created through the U.S. Department of Energy, the Weatherization Program seeks to decrease cost of utilities for homes of low-income families by examining and improving the efficiency of their utilities. MesaCAN's office provides Weatherization to residents of Mesa who qualify with proof of income.
Weatherization provides long-term results by examining the cause of high utility bills. A few areas of improvement include roofing, insulation, and air conditioner/heater replacement. Some measures, such as insulating walls or roofs, for example, will continue to provide savings for the lifetime of a house.
MesaCAN’s Weatherization Program is proud to partner with the following:
• Department of Energy
• Low Income Household Emergency Assistance Program
• The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA)
• ARRA- Sustainable Energy Resources for Consumers
• Utility Repair/Replace Deposit
• APS
• SRP
