Current Available Opportunities

Donation Drives Coordinator

We’re currently looking for enthusiastic volunteers to organize donation drives for A New Leaf shelter programs’ essential needs as well as solicit donations (as directed by the Development Office) for special events/raffles and holiday giving.
- Ongoing opportunity, offsite

Child Care Assistant, Child Development Center
(requires Fingerprint Clearance card, TB test and current health statement)

A great opportunity to assist our Licensed  Daycare staff in the care of the smaller children in our Child Development Centers.  Consistent weekly hours with four hour shift/week minimum required.  Volunteers must be at least 18 years old. 
- Shifts available Mon-Fri 7:00 am - 5:00 pm.  Flexible shifts within operating hours.

After School Adventures Instructor

We have great volunteer opportunities within our East and West Valley Afterschool Programs to help make a difference in a child’s life.  We’re currently looking for instructors for our Adventures Club.  This position will encourage self-discipline and self esteem for the children, perhaps teaching Karate?
- Shifts available Mon-Fri 4:30 – 5:30 pm.  Commitment of at least twice per month required 

Job Search/Job Skills Trainer

This position is crucial for the success of our shelter clients; this vital volunteer will work with and help train residents with interviewing skills, resume writing, job search assistance as well as research and partner with potential employers in the area to match them with shelter residents.
- Various shifts available within operating hours and weekends

Mentor/Tutor

Mature mentors and tutors are needed to work directly with young women and men ages 18 – 25 years old. Your help is needed with math, reading and life skills, as well as guidance for our young adults in our Empower and shelter programs. 
- This is a long term assignment with flexible hours within operating hours and weekends

Office/Clerical

We have office positions available to help within our programs and administrative offices that support our shelters for data entry, filing and other clerical duties, as needed.
- Shifts available Mon-Fri 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

Support Partner Assistant     

We’re looking for some great fill-in volunteers to help our Support Staff at our family homeless shelter.  Duties for this position include answering phones, assisting the public and clients with daily needs and assisting support partners with unit reviews and volunteer events.  Coverage needed during meetings, lunches, etc. Training provided during weekday hours.
- Shifts available Wed 12:00 - 2:00 pm; Mon – Fri 4:00 – 7:00 pm; and flexible weekend hours available

Housekeeping Assistant

You can make a huge difference by assisting shelter staff with cleaning/preparing units for new arrivals and restocking with household items and food.  Light office cleaning needed during weekend hours in our DV program offices.
- Shifts available Mon – Fri 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, and flexible weekend hours available
