When someone calls A New Leaf’s SAFEDVS hotline, the operator immediately assesses the level of danger. Then, they determine which resources would be the most helpful to the caller.
Every caller is assisted according to their needs. Some callers receive immediate police assistance, and others work with the operator to build a safe exit plan.
Resources include housing and shelter, court advocacy and legal services, and workforce and transportation assistance. All these critical resources help to make the decision to leave easier, safer, and more likely.
