internship college students

A New Leaf’s internship program is a great opportunity for students in the Phoenix area who want hands-on experience in a variety of fields within the nonprofit industry. Since 1971, A New Leaf has provided a variety of human services that help families and individuals move from crisis situations into long-term stability. With over 30 programs across the Valley, many of which are accessible by the Valley Metro Lightrail, our interns help make our community a better place for everyone.

Our interns can engage in opportunities for academic credit, service learning, program study, capstone projects, and gaining valuable experience. All types of skills are needed, so don’t hesitate to reach out and see what opportunities are available.

Details such as location and schedule varies depending on each position and department.

I was able to learn a whole new set of skills due to the wonderful support of the leads. There were good days were I learned so much and there were challenging days were I learned even more. Overall, the experience was great and I will miss working with the clients and staff.

I have had a great experience as a clinical intern at ANL. Everyone since day one has been friendly and helpful, I never felt “new” or like a “rookie” with all the help I received. I like the volume and diversity of clients I was able to service and get a full experience for my education.

I worked with the Philanthropy Department as a Donor Communications intern. I valued my experience because I was able to expand my professional skills and develop a broader network of industry leaders. I saw how one idea can turn into a game-changing experience with consistent effort to push past barriers.  For the young professional looking for a fundraising experience beyond cold calls and coffee runs, A New Leaf will work with you to develop your personal professional goals and skills."
