A New Leaf’s homeless shelters are a critical resource for those experiencing the housing crisis that is devastating our community. These shelters provide everything, including safety, basic needs, and comprehensive services that support vulnerable families and individuals in Arizona.

East Valley Men’s Center
Located in Mesa
A New Leaf’s East Valley Men’s Center provides shelter and support services to single men, the largest homeless population in Arizona and the population that struggles most to find assistance.

La Mesita Family Homeless Shelter
Located in Mesa
The La Mesita Family Homeless Shelter is a 16-unit family shelter that provides a broad array of services to help homeless families with minor-aged children to become self-reliant.

West Valley Housing Assistance Center
Located in Surprise
A New Leaf’s West Valley Housing Assistance Center located in Surprise will offer emergency housing in 7 apartment-style units to families and individuals experiencing homelessness. The resource center is currently open to refer households to community programs, but shelter units will open in Spring 2023.

Domestic Violence Shelters
Locations across the Valley
A New Leaf provides shelter to survivors of abuse at confidential locations across the Valley, giving them safety, counseling, and more as they recover from the trauma of abuse.

Both low-income families and survivors facing housing emergencies can find long-term apartments to find safety, security, and, ultimately, transition into independent living.

Desert Leaf Apartments
Located in Mesa
Desert Leaf Apartments are a 19-unit permanent supportive housing complex, developed specifically to serve families or individuals experiencing homelessness, domestic violence, or severe mental illness.

Second Chance Program
Operates Valley-wide
A New Leaf’s Second Chance Program provides housing assistance to previously justice involved individuals residing in Maricopa County. This program helps to reduce challenges to housing and employment.

La Mesita Apartments
Located in Mesa
La Mesita Apartments have 110 units of housing that act as a long-term solution for low-income families, giving them a safe place to call home while they work toward stability and financial security.

A New Leaf’s rental and utility assistance programs provide a variety of resources to help vulnerable households avoid homelessness, or secure housing after becoming homeless. This allows a household to stabilize much faster and prepare for future financial challenges, greatly improving their chance of success.

MesaCAN Rent and Utility Assistance
Located in Mesa
To help those most at risk of crisis, A New Leaf provides rental assistance to those facing eviction, as well as utility assistance to households facing utility shut-off.

Rapid ReHousing
Operates Valley-wide
Rapid ReHousing provides direct financial assistance, case management, and support services to stabilize and serve individuals and families who are currently homeless or living in emergency shelters.

Tenant Based Rental Assistance
Operates Valley-wide
A New Leaf’s Tenant Based Rental Assistance (TBRA) program is a rental assistance program for those who currently are, or at-risk of, homelessness.
