rent assistance
There are several ways to request rental assistance in the City of Mesa area:
Mesa Community Action Network
MesaCAN has an appointment line open to Mesa residents seeking rental or mortgage assistance. Please contact MesaCAN on Thursdays between 2:00-3:00pm at (480) 833-9200 to talk to a case manager.
You must reach a live person when you call, who will provide instructions for receiving assistance. Please note many people are calling, so please be patient. Only a limited number of appointments can be taken due to limited funding. The messaging system will notify you when the funding has been exhausted for the month.
City of Mesa
The City of Mesa has a Security and Utility Deposit program. Please visit their website at www.mesaaz.gov/residents/housing

Pick Up A Paper Application
Please visit MesaCAN’s office at 635 E Broadway Rd, Mesa, AZ 85204 for a paper application. At this time, MesaCAN requires that all individuals wear a mask and observe social distancing when entering our facilities. Utility assistance applications can be picked up or dropped off Monday – Friday between the hours of 8:00am to 4:30pm.
If you are unable to pick up a paper application, MesaCAN will mail a utility assistance packet to anyone requesting. Please call (480) 833-9200 for additional information or assistance.
